| Waterjet cutting is a highly
accurate, low cost alternative to die cutting, CNC machining, plasma arc cutting,
and laser cutting. waterjet machines use a computer-controlled stream of water
moving at 1,700 MPH to cut materials as hard as titanium or as soft as foam within
±0.005". The
abrasive waterjet machine uses your existing DXF files (or other CAD drawings).
No costly dies, fixtures, or elaborate CNC programming required.
Low
startup costs allow for inexpensive, highly accurate production for quantities
as small as one item. Working
from your drawings eliminates the need to wait for dies or fixtures.
Cuts are accurate within ±0.005".
Water jet cuts are smooth, similar to a fine sandblasted
finish. Flexible materials cut with less taper than cuts made through die cutting.
Materials like glass, rubber, and plastic will not
melt during the cutting process. No melting, no heat affected areas, no structural
changes. Waterjet
machining is capable of cutting materials ranging from softer materials such as
Paper, Plastic Films, Soft Gasket Material, Thin Foils to harder materials such
as Granite, Carbon Fiber, Hardened Tool Steel, and Titanium.
"Parts
nesting" provides optimum use of sheet materials, reducing scrap.
Waterjet
machining offers five choices in cut quality. To illustrate these choices, please
click on the sample piece shown at the right. The smoothest setting requires the
most time to cut; the roughest setting is fastest to cut.
Our waterjet machine is capable of both waterjet and
abrasivejet cutting, and can cut materials up to 120" X 240". The maximum
thickness is 6" (up to 10" with special fixturing). The part tolerance
is ±0.005". Please contact us at 414-435-0090
